Rotational atherectomy, lithotripsy or laser for calcified coronary stenosis: The ROLLER COASTER-EPIC22 trial
The ROLLER COASTER-EPIC22 trial showed that intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) was non-inferior to rotational atherectomy (RA) in terms of the percentage of stent expansion in PCI for coronary calcified lesions, but laser atherectomy (ELCA) did not achieve non-inferiority compared to RA, according to a study reported by Dr. Alfonso Jurado-Roman of La Paz University Hospital, Spain, in the Hotline/Late-Breaking Trials Session at EuroPCR 2024.
