Long-time perfusion balloon pre-dilatation with intracoronary nicorandil administration in comparison with distal filter protection devices for patients with acute coronary syndrome
In patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation with 3-minute predilation with the perfusion balloon (Ryusei) and intracoronary nicorandil significantly reduced the incidence of slow-flow or no-reflow during the procedure, procedure time, and contrast media use compared to DES implantation with a distal protective filter device, according to a study presented by Dr. Masataka Yoshinaga, Fujita Health University Bantane Hospital, Japan, in the Late Breaking Clinical Trials session at CVIT 2024.
