Drug-Coated Balloons Versus Drug-Eluting Stents or Plain Old Balloon Angioplasty: A Long-Term in-Stent Restenosis Study

SCAAR registry demonstrated that treatment with drug-coated balloons (DCB) for coronary in-stent restenosis lesions was associated with lower risks of TLR, all-cause mortality, and cardiovascular death over 5 years compared to standard balloon angioplasty, but a higher rate of TLR compared to DES, Dr. Sacharias von Koch and colleagues, Clinical Sciences Lund University, Sweden, reported in the December 3 issue of the Journal of the American Heart Association.
