Serial Change and Clinical Impact of Irregular Protrusion in Lesions With Chronic Coronary Syndrome
A subanalysis of the COLLABORATION study demonstrated that in patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS), irregular protrusion (IP) of plaque in the coronary segment where a stent was implanted was observed in approximately 35% of cases, with about one-fourth persisting at 1 month, and was associated with 3-year target lesion revascularization (TLR), Dr. Naotaka Okamoto and colleagues, Osaka Rosai Hospital, Japan, reported in the April 1 issue of Catheterization & Cardiovascular Interventions.
