Angiography-derived fractional flow reserve versus intravascular ultrasound to guide percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with coronary artery disease: The FLAVOUR II Trial
The FLAVOUR II trial demonstrated that an AngioFFR-guided PCI strategy, which calculates fractional flow reserve from angiographic images without the need for additional invasive procedures, was non-inferior to an IVUS-guided PCI strategy in terms of 1-year incidence of the composite outcome of death, MI, or revascularization, Dr. Xinyang Hu and colleagues, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, China, reported in the April 26 issue of The Lancet.
