Rotational vs. Orbital OCT-Guided Atherectomy for Calcified Coronary Artery Lesions : The DIRO Trial
The DIRO trial, a prospective randomized trial, found that treatment of calcified coronary lesions with OCT-guided rotational atherectomy resulted in better stent expansion when compared with orbital atherectomy. Dr. Naotaka Okamoto of Osaka Rosai Hospital, and colleagues reported in the September 11 issue of JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions.
