Dual-Prep registry: atherectomy devices and intravascUlAr lithotripsy for the PREParation of heavily calcified coronary lesions registry
The DUAL-PREP registry demonstrated that in patients with severely calcified coronary artery lesions, PCI using rotational or orbital atherectomy followed by intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) prior to drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation was associated with a high procedural success rate and a low 30-day risk of major adverse cardiac events (MACE; cardiac death, MI, and TVR), Dr. Masato Nakamura and colleagues, Toho University Ohashi Medical Center, Japan, reported in the online edition of Cardiovascular Intervention and Therapeutics.
