Angiography-Guided vs Intravascular Imaging-Guided PCI Using Intravascular Lithotripsy: The BENELUX-IVL Registry
The BENELUX-IVL registry demonstrated that among patients with calcified coronary lesions, intravascular imaging-guided intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) achieved similar procedural success rates compared with angiography-guided IVL, despite being used for more complex lesions, with no significant differences in 2-year MACE (cardiac death, myocardial infarction, and target vessel revascularization), Dr. Akshay A. S. Phagu and colleagues, Leiden University Medical Center, the Netherlands, reported in the August 1 issue of Catheterization & Cardiovascular Interventions.
