A meta-analysis of randomized trials demonstrated that among patients with de novo coronary artery disease undergoing PCI, the mid-term risk of MACE, defined as cardiac death, myocardial infarction, and target lesion revascularization, was comparable between treatment with drug-coated balloons and drug-eluting stents, Dr. Daniel O’Callaghan and colleagues, Mater Private Network, Ireland, reported in the September 1 issue of Catheterization & Cardiovascular Interventions.
