REHEALTH AF Study: Evaluating Healthy Life Expectancy and Long-Term Outcomes After Catheter Ablation in the Very Elderly
The REHEALTH AF study demonstrated that in patients aged 80 years or older with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF), catheter ablation significantly improved symptoms and quality of life (QOL), and contributed to the maintenance of physical and cognitive functions, although it did not lead to improved long-term clinical outcomes, according to a study presented by Dr. Yasuo Okumura, Nihon University School of Medicine, in the Late Breaking Cohort Studies session at the 89th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society.
