Timing of Complete Revascularization During Index Hospitalisation in Patients With STEMI and Multivessel Disease: The OPTION-STEMI Trial

The OPTION-STEMI trial demonstrated that in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and multivessel disease, immediate complete revascularization after successful primary PCI did not prove non-inferior compared with staged complete revascularization during the index hospitalization in terms of the 1-year composite of all-cause death, non-fatal MI, and unplanned revascularization, according to a study presented by Dr. Youngkeun Ahn, Chonnam National University Medical School, Korea, in the Hot Line session at ESC Congress 2025.
