Paclitaxel-Coated Balloon Plus Bailout Stenting vs Planned DES Implantation for De Novo Coronary Lesions: 3-Year Outcomes of the REC-CAGEFREE I Trial
The REC-CAGEFREE I trial demonstrated that among patients undergoing non-complex PCI for de novo coronary lesions, treatment with the Swide paclitaxel-coated balloon (PCB) plus bailout stenting resulted in a significantly higher 3-year rate of device-oriented clinical events (DoCE) compared with planned DES implantation, according to a study presented by Dr. Chao Gao, Xijing Hospital, China, in the Late-Breaking Clinical Science session at TCT 2025.
