IVUS or angiography guidance for PCI in complex coronary bifurcation lesions: The DKCRUSH VIII Trial
The DKCRUSH VIII trial demonstrated that among patients with complex coronary bifurcation lesions, IVUS-guided PCI using the DK Crush technique significantly reduced the 1-year risk of TVF—defined as cardiac death, target vessel-related myocardial infarction, or clinically driven target vessel revascularization—compared with angiography-guided PCI, and that the benefit of IVUS was attributable not to its use per se but to achieving optimal stent expansion guided by IVUS, according to a study presented by Dr. Shao-Liang Chen, Nanjing First Hospital, China, in the Late-Breaking Clinical Trials session at ACC.26.
