Intravascular Lithotripsy vs Rotational Atherectomy for Calcified Coronary Lesions: 12-Month Results of the ICARE Trial
The ICARE trial demonstrated that in patients with calcified coronary artery lesions, treatment with intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) was noninferior to rotational atherectomy (RA) with respect to post-procedural minimum stent area (MSA), with no significant differences in 12-month clinical outcomes, according to a study presented by Dr. Benjamin Honton, Clinique Pasteur, France, in the Hotline/Late-Breaking Trials session at EuroPCR 2026.
