SES vs. EES in Japanese Patients with Coronary Artery Disease: 10-Year Follow-up of the RESET Trial
From the 10-year follow-up of the RESET trial of patients undergoing PCI in a multicenter, all-comer design in Japan; treatment with the Xience everolimus-eluting stent (EES) was compared with the Cypher sirolimus-eluting stent (SES) Although there was no difference in risk of thrombosis, the risk of TLF (cardiac death, MI related to target vessel, and TLR of clinical origin) was significantly lower in the EES group. Dr. Hiroki Shiomi of Kyoto University, presented at the Late Breaking Clinical Trials session of the 87th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society.
