Door-to-Unloading Time with Impella and Short-Term Outcomes in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction Complicated by Cardiogenic Shock: The UNLOADERS-PVAD Study
The UNLOADERS-PVAD study demonstrated that in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated by cardiogenic shock treated with Impella, there was a U-shaped association between door-to-unloading time (DTUT) and 30-day outcomes (all-cause mortality and unplanned re-implantation of mechanical circulatory support after Impella implantation), according to a study presented by Dr. Toshiyuki Iwaya, Kitasato University Hospital, Japan, in the Late Breaking Clinical Trial session at CVIT 2025.
