The impact of a Perfusion Balloon for ACS compared with Direct Stent and Conventional Therapy
A single-center study demonstrated that in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing stent implantation, predilatation with a perfusion balloon was associated with a significantly larger post-PCI minimum stent area (MSA) and a lower incidence of slow flow/no reflow compared with conventional therapy and direct stenting, according to a study presented by Dr. Takehiro Hata, Sendai Kousei Hospital, Japan, in the Oral Presentation session at CVIT 2025.
