Impact of Delayed Referral on Clinical Outcomes in Patients with CLTI: The COMET Study
The COMET study demonstrated that among patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) and Rutherford class 5/6, delayed referral to a facility capable of performing revascularization after wound onset was associated with prolonged time to wound healing, lower wound healing rates, and reduced amputation-free survival, according to a study presented by Dr. Shunsuke Kojima, Tokyo Bay Urayasu Ichikawa Medical Center, Japan, in the Late Breaking Clinical Trial session at CVIT 2025.
