DES vs DCB for Treatment Femoropopliteal Arteries: 3-Year Outcomes from the BEASTARS Registry
The BEASTARS registry demonstrated that among femoropopliteal lesions in which lesion preparation was successful without severe dissection in real-world practice in Japan, DES implantation was associated with a significantly higher 3-year primary patency rate compared to DCB treatment. However, there was no difference in clinically driven TLR between the groups, and DES showed significantly better outcomes in lesions longer than 150 mm, according to a study presented by Dr. Tatsuya Nakama, Tokyo Bay Urayasu Ichikawa Medical Center, Japan, in the Late Breaking Clinical Trial session at CVIT 2025.
