Aspirin-Free Strategy in High Bleeding Risk ACS and Non-ACS Patients Undergoing PCI: A Subgroup Analysis of the STOPDAPT-3 Trial
The STOPDAPT-3 trial demonstrated that among high bleeding risk (HBR) patients, an aspirin-free strategy one month after PCI did not reduce major bleeding regardless of the presence of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and was associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction (MI) in ACS patients, Dr. Tetsuya Ishikawa and colleagues, Dokkyo Medical University Saitama Medical Center, Japan, reported in the July issue of Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions.
