Intravascular Imaging-Guided PCI in Contemporary U.S. Practice: The BMC2 Registry
The BMC2 Registry demonstrated that in contemporary U.S. clinical practice, intravascular imaging–guided PCI was associated with the use of larger stent and balloon diameter and longer stent length, as well as with higher rates of coronary dissection and perforation; however, increases in intravascular imaging use and stent/balloon sizing over time were not associated with an increase in these complications, Dr. Thomas Basala and colleagues, University of Michigan, United States, reported in the September issue of Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions.
