Geographic Variations and Trends in Percutaneous Intervention for Stable Coronary Disease and Acute Myocardial Infarction: Insights from the J-PCI registry
The J-PCI Registry demonstrated that in Japan, although the number of PCI procedures for AMI (AMI-PCI) per 100,000 population showed little regional variation, there was substantial variability in PCI for non-AMI (non-AMI-PCI), and a higher density of PCI-capable hospitals may be associated with increased non-AMI-PCI volume, according to a study presented by Dr. Yuichi Saito, Chiba University, Japan, in the Late Breaking Cohort Studies session at the 90th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japanese Circulation Society.
