Ticagrelor alone versus ticagrelor plus aspirin from month 1 to month 12 after percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with acute coronary syndromes (ULTIMATE-DAPT): a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial
The ULTIMATE-DAPT trial demonstrated that in patients with ACS who underwent DES implantation and did not experience an event during one month of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT), antiplatelet therapy with ticagrelor monotherapy for 11 months after aspirin discontinuation was associated with less BARC 2, 3, and 5 bleeding and similar rate of ischemic events compared with aspirin plus ticagrelor treatment, Dr. Zhen Ge and colleagues, the Nanjing First Hospital, China, reported in the May 11 issue of The Lancet.
