Impact of transcatheter edge-to-edge repair on prognosis in atrial functional mitral regurgitation: The OCEAN-Mitral and REVEAL-AFMR registries
The OCEAN-Mitral and REVEAL-AFMR registries demonstrated that in patients with atrial functional mitral regurgitation (AFMR) who underwent transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER), the procedure was associated with improved prognosis, particularly when mitral regurgitation (MR) was well controlled, according to a study presented by Dr. Tomohiro Kaneko, Juntendo University, Japan, in the Mitral and Tricuspid Hotline session at EuroPCR 2025.
