Prospective Randomized Trial Evaluating Clinical Outcomes of Angiography-based Fractional Flow Reserve Guidance Versus Wire-based Fractional Flow Reserve Guidance: The PROVISION trial
The PROVISION trial demonstrated that in patients with intermediate coronary stenosis, treatment decision-making guided by angiography-derived FFR (FFRangio) was non-inferior to pressure wire-based FFR guidance in terms of revascularization rates. Clinical outcomes were comparable between the two strategies, and FFRangio was associated with a potential reduction in medical costs, according to a study presented by Dr. Toru Tanigaki, Gifu Heart Center, Japan, in the Hotline/Late-Breaking Trials session at EuroPCR 2025.
